Coral Reefs and Giant Clams: See How They Add Color to the Sea
We have always perceived the sea as something colorful and majestic with all the creatures moving about in it. However, what we don’t see is that, the fish aren’t the only sights to behold down there. Instead, we should sometimes shift our focus to the other organisms in the sea. Just like the land has flora, the sea is also home to aquatic plants.Similar to those on land, these are living things too. These comprise of corals with different shapes and sizes. Not many people know but these things are actually homes for hundreds of fish. I discovered this upon going to the Waikiki Aquarium. Just like other aquariums in the state, they have a special exhibit for these beautiful reefs.
At the same time, I was able to view clams of different sizes. Who knew that there would be clams growing as huge as 3 feet? It’s really surprising. Most of the time, I only see these types of species in cartoons where they would be devouring the main characters as a joke. Although they’re shown as giant white clams, they appear to be more colorful and mysterious in real life.

Seeing these beautiful species in action brings joy to my heart. It’s strange but knowing that there are people who work hard to preserve this is really a blessing. People need to know how amazing marine life is and we should always put in mind that everything we do has an effect on them. Personally, I think that people should find the time to visit the aquarium at least once or twice in their lifetime.Not only will you see the wonders of the aquatic world but you will also pick up a thing or two from the artificial fish paradise—may it be knowledge or a valuable souvenir. Hawaii is home to various aquariums and it’s a great place to go on a vacation.
